Research Position in Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Modeling

The Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Scientist or Research Scientist in the field of coupled ocean-atmosphere modeling. The successful candidate will participate in climate predictability research using state-of-the-art coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation models (CGCM) and comprehensive observational datasets, with an emphasis on the mechanisms and predictability of Tropical Atlantic Variability (TAV) and its connection to the Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation and Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. The candidate should have a Ph.D degree in atmospheric sciences, physical oceanography, or a related field and a strong background and interest in ocean-atmosphere interactions and climate variability. Previous experience in CGCM or uncoupled oceanic/atmospheric general circulation models is preferred. The initial appointment is for two years, with possible renewal subject to available funding. The position is available immediately. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a list of three references, and a summary of research interest to:
